It’s only fitting that a festival with fine, handcrafted art also feature the best handcrafted beer and wine. What could be more enjoyable on a sunny, summer day than strolling a world-class festival with a glass of fine wine, a refreshing margarita or a cold, crisp beer while taking in the gorgeous art, lively music and great scene at this year’s Mountain View Art & Wine Festival, September 12-13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Castro Street.

By tradition the talented brewmasters at Mountain View’s Tied House Cafe & Brewery salute the Art & Wine Festival with a special brew. This year’s brew is a Honey Wheat Ale, a refreshing brew fashioned from the tradition of a fine American Wheat Ale, perfect for a warm summer outing. The Honey Wheat Ale is brewed with a 50/50 blend of barley and wheat malt to create that perfect light beverage to enhance your enjoyment of the outdoors. A touch of Munich malt is added for added extra depth in flavor to stimulate your palate. This beer is lightly hopped to balance the light delicate flavor of the malt. Pure alfalfa/sage honey from a local bee keeper is added to the wort to add another layer of flavor and aroma. The result is a refreshing beer with a delicate bouquet to perk the senses to all of natures wonders. Tied House’s stellar Cascade Amber Ale, Stella Artois, Bass Ale, Shock Top Belgian White and Bud Light will also be served.

Lovely varietals from eight exceptional winemakers –– Forestville, Crane Lake, Salmon Creek, Laurier, Bad Dog, Hacienda, Fat Cat and Mont Pellier –– will be served. Sip and sample from an outstanding array of chardonnays, pinot grigios, sauvignon blancs, gewürztraminers, viogniers, cabernets, merlots, pinot noirs, syrahs and Champagne.

The Margarita King –– The World’s Best Margarita –– offers festivalgoers another refreshing beverage alternative. Margaritas will come in many variations: there’s the “King Cocktail” (straight margarita), the “Miami Vice” (margarita with a splash of pineapple juice), and the “Girlfriend” (margarita with a splash of pomegranate juice).

Sip your favorite beverage in a beautiful wine or beer glass adorned with the stylish festival logo.
