“I have a passion for this because it’s really cool to be able to turn kids on to reptiles at a young age,” said Desert Dave, who lives in American Canyon and owns more than 50 reptiles. “The biggest misconception about reptiles is that they’re mean. The average reptile is extremely passive. Tortoises and lizards have the most personality.” Desert Dave’s interactive, educational presentation is so up close and personal, kids never forget it.
Extraordinarily gifted funnyman Owen Baker-Flynn has been performing around the globe with annoying regularity for over 20 years. Along the way, he has mesmerized audiences worldwide and won numerous awards in mime and cartooning. Amazing magician Dick Newton is a master illusionist and storyteller. In his fascinating show, Newton mixes gags and quips with his magician skills to astonish his audience. “Children participate in the show, and the parents love to watch their children’s expressions and amazement as they get involved in making magic,” said Newton. A performer for over 40 years and the author of a book on sleight of hand, he has regularly appeared on television and has received international acclaim for his re-creation of Charles Dickens, who few people know loved to perform magic tricks.
