MILLBRAE ART & WINE FESTIVAL
September 5-6, 2009 – 10AM to 5PM
Big Labor Day Weekend Mardi Gras-Style Festival of Music, Art, Food and Fun

What:

38th Annual Millbrae Art & Wine Festival. One of the Bay Area’s biggest Labor Day weekend events, more than 100,000 festival lovers transform downtown Millbrae into a Mardi Gras-style feast with two great days of live music featuring top cover bands Rick Lenzi & Roustabout (Elvis), Zepparella (Led Zeppelin), The Best Intentions (r&b classics) and Brother Buzz, a juried show with 250 artists and craftmakers showing their latest handcrafted wares, savory stroll-around food, premium wines, microbrews and margaritas, a classic car show, tons of fun for kids with juggling, magic, comedy, fire-eating, an exotic reptile show and endless amusements, Chinese Dragon Dance and Taiko Drum performances. Free admission. Presented by the Millbrae Chamber of Commerce.

Live Music … nine top cover bands playing rock ‘n roll, rhythm and blues, Motown, jazz, soul, and pop music: Rick Lenzi & Roustabout (Elvis), Zepparella (Led Zeppelin), The Best Intentions, Brother Buzz, San Franz, The Reed Fromer Band, Dreamroad, The Emerson Growiser Band, and HeartStrings Music.

Fine Art & Cool Crafts ... 250 talented artists and craftmakers show original work in wood, leather, ceramics, metal, textiles, graphics, glass, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry, photography, watercolor and oil painting, and clothing.

Kids’ Stage ... incredible juggling, mime, magic, fire-eating, balancing tricks and laugh-out-loud comedy by goofball guru Owen Baker-Flynn and Desert Dave’s traveling reptile show –– a mesmerizing critter classroom, and wondrous magician Dick Newton.

Kids’ Playland ... action-packed fun and games with a full-size Ferris Wheel, Boomer’s Magic Circus, a 120’ tall Super Slide, face painting, temporary tattoos, Mobile Rock’s challenging 24-foot climbing wall, kiddie train rides, the Great Crab Grab, Helicopter and Berry-Go-Round amusement rides and several themed inflatables including Dr. Seuss-inspired Cat-In-The Hat bounce house, Tsunami Tidal Wave slide and the Escape From Alcatraz obstacle course.

Food  & Drink ... garlic fries, teriyaki chicken skewers, made-to-order crepes, fresh corn-on-the-cob, Philly cheesesteaks, quesadillas, jumbo hot dogs, gourmet sausages, calamari with cilantro lime sauce, zesty gyros, fried zucchini and artichokes, veggies over rice, wraps, smoked turkey legs, and tri-tip sandwiches.

September 5-6, 2009 (Saturday-Sunday). Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where:

On Broadway (one block west of El Camino Real), between Victoria Ave. and Meadow Glen, downtown Millbrae, California. From Highsway 101 or 280, take the Millbrae Avenue exit west to El Camino Real north. Free round trip shuttle service from the Millbrae BART/Caltrain station every 20 minutes. Get directions.
